What is halal meat?

Interesting article on HALAL Meat!!
We have a very wrong understanding about the meaning of Halal slaughter. I was asked by a Non-Muslim professor once.  What makes a meat halal?  And I didn’t know an explanation and I was embarrassed. But I gave a vague answer saying that we say the prayer before we cut, that makes it Halal.
Later, I came back and went through many hadiths and articles written by muslim scholars and finally came to an understanding. I am going to explain it in a scientific way so that InshaAllah in the future you will be prepared if anyone asks you the same.
WHAT MAKES A ? MEAT ? HALAL OR HARAM??
Answer: It is the undrained blood that contaminates the meat, which  makes it Haram.
What non-muslim butchers do is completely CHOP OFF the head as a result of which the Connection between the Brain and the Heart is LOST hence the Heart stops Pumping/Beating almost instantaneously. Therefore there is no driving Force to PUSH the blood OUT of the body. As a result of this the blood STAGNATES in the veins and arteries and Contaminates the meat.
Scientifically Blood is one of the Best culture mediums to grow bacteria.
Consuming meat contaminated with blood makes humans more vulnerable to infections and joint pains. (Joint pains because of high uric acid levels in blood)
SO WHAT IS THE HALAL WAY??
Answer: We DO Not Chop off the head completely, instead we CUT the Main Vein (jugular vein) in the neck first. This vein contains venous blood in high pressure and it directly connects to the atrium of the heart without any interference. This method of slaughtering preserves the connection between the brain and the heart which allows neural transmissions to be delivered. This keeps the heart pumping/beating until all the blood is drained off completely from every vein and artery in the body making the meat PURE and thus halal. SUBHANALLAH!!
SO THE NEXT QUESTION IS WHAT MAKES FISH ? HALAL EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT SLAUGHTERED THIS WAY??
Allah SWT has created Fish? in such a way that the moment it is removed from water the Entire Blood in its body is redirected to a part called the Epiglottis in its mouth which turns bright red thus indicating that the blood is drained and the meat is pure. SUBHANALLAH!!

MUSLIM  MEDICAL CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE ADDICTION TO MEAT !THE FACTS  AND THE REASONS ARE: -Muslims are very much addicted to meat today!-Meat is in most of the food eaten by Muslims during the week/many have daily meat or chicken? British Muslims  are   about 5% of the population ,but  consume 25% of the sheep in Britain There is also a huge consumption of  chickens by the Muslims-Most animal slaughter for Muslims (DHABH) is done with stunning and not the Prophet Muhammad way!(not true halal) Most poultry  slaughtered by Mechanical slaughter-Most Muslim officials/governments are becoming more PRO-STUNNING?-Most Muslims who do DHABH do not follow the Prophetic animal welfare steps to do at time of slaughter

-Many Muslims slaughter their animals in a cruel primitive barbaric way!–  Many Muslims in the halal industry LIE and CHEAT their own Muslim community!
-Many  halal meat sold to Muslims  do come from non Muslim companies?
-Almost all the   meat eaten by the Muslims is NOT TAYYIB/NOT ORGANIC(not pure not safe not healthy not fresh not tasty….and  is full of hormones/vaccines/antibiotics/ harmful chemicals etc…)Muslims have not got their own TAYYIB ORGANIC HALAL FARMS!
-Some harmful or haram additives are added to some processed meat
-Many animals today are fed unnatural “non halal diet”: animal proteins when they  have been  created to be vegetarians!
 In Islam: you can not eat their meat!
-A lot of meat is not clean and not hygienic and many contain bacteria as in poultry which cause food poisoning
-The Halal shop is the most unclean unhygienic  and most smelly shops on earth! As well as the men selling the meat and serving you???
They cause bad publicity to non Muslims on Islam
Many halal shops sell alcohol? How can you trust them?-Makkah and Madina are full of non Halal  meat coming from non Halal DHABH  and  stunning!-Muslims who eat non halal meat or food:
  *Their Du’as are not accepted*Their Salat/prayers are not accepted for 40 days.* Their children’s organs are formed from non halal sources* Any body formed from non halal meat/food will not enter JANNAH!-The laws in the west are becoming more anti-halal and anti-prophetic Dhabh!
-Eating meat/beef in India is leading to the killing of Muslims and to a lot of riots
-Many new medical reports by the  World Health Organisation(WHO) proved the link  to cancers(breast ,colon) from eating meat!
Other medical harms from eating meat especially red meat:
-Caused by the: drugs/hormones/antibiotics/vaccines…. in the body of the animal
-Saturated fat which causes Atherosclerosis: Heart attacks and Strokes
-Gout
-Parasites infections
-Bacteria/E Coli which cause many infections
-Some link to Diabetes 2
Etc…
-Less halal meat consumption  will reduce no doubt Islamohobia and the bad publicity about Islam in the west! 
-To  the people in the west:
Halal meat is a sign of cruelty and cruel Muslims?
-Meat is expensive and not economic to a lot of people ,vegetarian diet is cheaper!
-Less eating of meat will reduce  no doubt,the cruel inhumane factories farming
-Vegetarianism/number of vegetarians are rising fast in the west !
 Many Muslims are starting to join them.
 
Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) rarely ate meat and was mostly vegetarian or semi-vegetarian:
And he is our teacher and our only model to follow and copy
The companion of Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) Omar Bin Khattab has warned all Muslims about eating too much meat as it is ADDICTIVE!
Many well known scholars use to eat meat only once/week
The Scholar/Daeeya Hamza Yusuf is leading the campaign now against the addiction to meat by  the Muslims today!
IT IS WISE AND REASONABLE WITH THE MANY EXTRA PROBLEMS AFFECTING THE ANIMALS  SLAUGHTERING AND THE MEAT TODAY  AS MENTIONED ABOVE :
TO REDUCE A LOT THE MUSLIM CONSUMPTION TO MEAT OR TO GO MOSTLY VEGETARIANS
Perhaps  to eat meat every  2 weeks  or so?
  IT WILL  BE  WISE/ISLAMIC/AND FOR OUR OWN HEALTH TO CAMPAIGN AGAINST THE ADDICTION OF MUSLIMS  TO MEAT !
 AFTER ALL: EATING MEAT IS NOT OBLIGATORY IN ISLAM!
 
MY APOLOGY FOR UPSETTING SOME HALAL MEAT COMPANIES IN THIS NEW CAMPAIGN!
Obviously , we are not saying stop eating meat…but  we are asking to stop  the ADDICTION to meat and  to reduce well  the amount of meat and poultry eaten during the whole week
for Islamic health and humane reasons.
 
However Our Islamic occasions to offer meat/  in parties to Muslims as in:
-Birth of the child(AQIQAH)
-Qurbani/UDHIAH
-Wedding
will stay forever with the offering of  meat to eat..
 
No doubt, halal tayyib  meat is a rich source for top class animal proteins
and has got good supply of Iron and Vit B12
Vegetarians who stopped eating meat completely should  have regular supply of Iron and Vit B12
But one can get proteins also  from fish and from  many other sources like: lentil.chickpea
peas, beans…

September is NATIONAL ORGANIC(Tayyib) MONTH

ALL MUSLIMS IN THE UK/WORLD SHOULD CELEBRATE THIS  ORGANIC MONTH ! Definition of Organic food:
“Organic food is the product of a farming system which avoids the use of man-made fertilisers, pesticides; growth regulators and livestock feed additives. Irradiation and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) or products produced from or by GMOs are generally prohibited by organic legislation.” (Ref: DEFRA  Organic meat/food/fruits are the new fashion in the west and more people are eating organic  foods today although it is expensive.Organic means:Natural pure safe healthy nutritious,tasty …In the Qur’an:The word TAYYIB is used and mentioned many times, which is close  to  organic.HALAL TAYYIB mentioned frequently  together in many AYAT in the Qur’an.
There are at least 5 Ayat in the Qur’an which mentioned TAYYIB after Halal.Our beloved teacher ,the final Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him), used to be a shepherd and was  leader in organic farming and in his dealing with the animals  we eat !In Islam :Any  Halal meat or food  should be TAYYIB(ORGANIC) too.Unfortunately almost all Muslims in the world have neglected TAYYIB MEAT AND FOODSOur first battle today is  to have TRUE HALAL MEAT coming from the humane Prophetic method of DHABH, without the use of any stunning.If we are lucky to have this Prophetic method of DHABH, most likely this Halal meat today IS NOT TAYYIB AT ALL! TAYYIB(organic) ANIMAL FOR TAYYIB(organic) MEAT:The animal should eat first his/her own natural “halal” diet/food: grass  and plants and seeds(no animal protein from pork or other animals… as they do today in the west , we  have paid a huge price before when we fed the cows animal proteins and we suffered after Mad Cow disease)The animal should grow naturally in open air and  in the sun and  have normal natural way of life as in organic farmsNo pesticides   no fertilisers and no GM  materials and no insecticides should be on the grass or plant eaten by the animalsHis/her body should be free from a lot of harmful chemicals coming  from vaccines, antibiotics, growth hormones and other hormones, additives, irradiation  ….which are present in most animals in the west?Unfortunately some Muslim countries are copying the wrong west :not organic!
THEY SHOULD GO BACK TO THE NATURAL TRADITIONAL WAYS IN FARMING!One more thing:More bleeding out do occur in  the  Prophetic  method of Zabiha when the animal is slaughtered without any stunning.Blood inside the meat(SALT AND PEPPER HAEMORRHAGES) from the use of stunning  is harmful to health ,Haram to consume  and will make the  meat/animal not Tayyib

Most halal shops and halal restaurants sell and provide THIS “NON HALAL” NON TAYYIB MEAT
in the name of HALAL? …THE BIGGEST CHEAT TO MUSLIMS!
WHY ISLAM AND MUSLIMS OPPOSE ANY TYPE OF STUNNING OF THE ANIMAL IN THE  ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS SLAUGHTER?
-Medical studies (EEG studies/Electric recording of the brain)( & common sense) have shown the CRUELTY and the PAIN and   suffering to the animal do occur if  the animal is stunned?
-Medical physiological knowledge about the effects of the cut/Dhabh on the animal(blood vessels/blood/brain sensation)  have proved that it is “PAINLESS”  
This is explained easily by understanding the physiology of the act of the Zabiha/cut and the effects on the brain/blood pressure/sensation..(a little medical knowledge will help)
–MANY MUHARRAMAT(Forbidden) DO RESULT FROM STUNNING:-Stunning have been found to KILL some animals especially the poultry(about 33%-40% before Dhabh)/according to FAWC(Farm Animal Welfare Council) .This is MITAH (Dead animal before Dhabh)and is  haram to eat.(unfortunately dead with non dead animals from stunning are all mixed together?)-Stunning causes  WEAKENING OF THE HEART and less bleeding out  inside the meat?So Muslims are consuming BLOOD (Damm)which is forbidden in Islam and very unhealthy too.
According to medical studies:
The electricity of stunning do cause the rupture of the small blood vessels/capillaries INSIDE THE MEAT , called scientifically: “SALT AND PEPPER HAEMORRHAGE” so  the blood( which is unseen and inside the meat ) is consumed with the meat.???-Stunning makes the meat NOT TAYYIB/NOT NATURAL/NOT WHOLESOME , as it disrupts the natural chemical formula/ingredients of the meat which is  normally healthy to eat 
If the animal was not  stunned.-Captive Bolt pistol to stun the cows have been found to spread BSE/Mad cow disease Many states in the US  have stopped using it-Scientific medical studies have shown the importance of hearing the Name of ALLAH(Tasmiah) at time of Dhabh  by the animal who should be fully conscious and fully hearing .It was found that TASMIAH acts like tranquilliser/sedative to both: the animal and the slaughtermanand PURIFY the meat from germs/bacteria !(Many videos are available)In stunning: the animal is unconscious and can not hear.???-Almost all   Muftis Muslim  scholars and Ulamas have given the FATAWAS against  the use of stunning,  in a poll done by  Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC ) in the UK: at least about 90% of Muftis/Ulamas and scholars  in the UK opposed stunning)-Stunning of the poultry is clearly prohibited in the Qur’an, when the heads of the innocent chickens are forcibly immersed in electrified  water bath???Some chickens will die from STRANGULATION( MUNQUANIQAH )/drowning  which is mentioned in the Qur’an.
The government’s  figures before: 33% of chickens die in stunning and before doing the cut
(now it is 41%)  ?.-The OFFICIAL MUSLIM VIEW IN BRITAIN, Like the Muslim Council of Britain and hundreds of Muslim organisations and mosques…  TRUE HALAL MEAT IS THE ONE WHICH CAME FROM UNSTUNNED ANIMALS( Through PROPHETIC method of Dhabh/Religious slaughter)-Dhabh without stunning is LEGAL in Britain and we Muslims(as well as the Jews) have been given exemption from using stunning(WE ARE LUCKY TO HAVE THIS LAW AND FACILITY HERE IN BRITAIN but unfortunately many muslim businessmen/companies  have insisted on stunning  and their meat/chickens are in almost most halal shops and Muslim  restaurants )
 -Many HEALTH HAZARDS have been found in stunned animals:Consumption of blood,BSE/Mad Cow disease ,  not Tayyib meat ,unhealthy meat etc…
Besides, the animals going for stunning in the abattoirs suffer  today from a lot of STRESS/ANXIETY AND FEAR….which was found medically to give us “poisonous”  unhealthy meat!
-The same method of DHABH/Zabiha  was practiced by all Prophets of ALLAH : Abraham/Moses/Jesus and Muhammad(peace be upon them)…The same HUMANE method.
Jesus peace be upon him, ate only KOSHER/HALAL meat( from unstunned animal)
We are with all technology,animal welfare,hygiene and regulations ..but the ACT OF Religious slaughter/ZABIHA is holy/divine  and fixed permanently for all times and no one have the right to change it/interfere with it or adopt any western  un-islamic method of animal slaughter.-Alhamdulillah the Muslim consumers  in Britain/Europe/abroad have waken up to the importance of eating true halal meat without  the use of stunning(MORE MUSLIM CONSUMERS DEMANDING IT) ,as shown in the National licensing/stamping of unstunned animals by the organisation:

-More important , the final prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) has said in an authentic Hadith/saying :Narrated by Anas Bib Malik:
Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they ………………. “and slaughter as we slaughter”/Zabiha, then their blood and property will be sacred to us….
At the end of the Hadith ,The prophet  Muhammad(pbuh)  mentioned  that THE MUSLIM is the one who  prays  like us and eats  our Zabiha”(unstunned meat)

ALL TYPES OF STUNNING SHOULD BE OPPOSED FOR A LOT OF REASONS:
-Humane / animal welfare reasons
-Health reasons
-Economic reasons(more demands today for unstunned meat/Barakah)
-Consumers reasons/demands
-Religious reasons/demands 
-Safety reasons(no electricity/no bullets/no pistol…)
-Practicality/simplicity reasons…Can be done easily without too many equipments
– And Legal reasons according to the law in Britain: Is LEGAL for Muslims to do their religious slaughter for Halal meat without stunning.
ALL MUSLIMS SHOULD FEAR ALLAH ESPECIALLY IN RAMADAN AND TRY TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE EATING AND FEEDING THEIR INNOCENT CHILDREN/FAMILIES TRUE HALAL TAYYIB MEAT
COMING FROM UNSTUNNED ANIMALS.
It is DOUBLY SINFUL  and  some meat are HARAM (dead before Dhabh/Blood inside …)

But be aware that some Halal meat shops/restaurants  do CHEAT after having a license from HMC and buy cheap non halal meat and chicken and mix it with the  Halal ones?
Sometimes some Halal shops(not licensed by HMC) sell  true halal meat    after they themselves slaughtered their   animals without stunning.
WE HUMBLY APPEAL TO ALL MOSQUES IN BRITAIN/ABROAD TO OFFER ONLY TRUE HALAL TAYYIB MEAT(from unstunned animals) FOR IFTAR/WEDDING/AQIQAH etc…
FINALLY WE BADLY NEED TODAY TRUE TAYYIB MEAT AND HALAL (  organic/wholesome) coming from natural organic farms.
Tayyib is the second requirement after Halal for meat to consume by the Muslims.
Non Muslims are moving more to organic farms(Tayyib)  for health reasons
UNFORTUNATELY ALMOST ALL MUSLIMS (Halal shops/restaurants) HAVE NEGLECTED THIS BASIC ISLAMIC REQUIREMENT: TAYYIB   TAYYIB  TAYYIB meat.
There is one Muslim organic farm close to London which do not stun  the animals and have free range animals/chicken(Tayyib)  : ZUSS FARM

Order to do DHABH EXACTLY like the Prophet did/Hadith

HADITH/Saying of the final Prophet Muhammad,peace be upon him. 

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
 
Allah’s Apostle said, “I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: ‘None has the right to be worshiped but Allah.’ And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah.” Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, “O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?” He replied, “Whoever says, ‘None has the right to be worshiped but Allah’, faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have.” Ref:Buhkari  Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
